The ups and downs of female entrepreneurship

Hi guys, welcome to this weeks post. Happy international women’s day in arrears. Today I am talking about something very dear to me and its female entrepreneurship. This post would be divided into two parts for this one, I would be talking about why female’s are successful entrepreneurs and how to be successful as a female entrepreneur.

I consider myself as a full term female entrepreneur, I get inspiration from people like; Michelle Obama, Opera Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Denise Coat, Sophia Amoniso, Tony Brunch, Linda Ikeji and Beyonce these women keep pushing the stereotypes and showing so much strength, I respect these women so much. As a woman, I would not only like to carry myself to the top but will make sure I carry many other women with me.

Below are we would be discussing why women are good and successful entrepreneurs.

Women have the ability to generate more revenue than male entrepreneurs. Female entrepreneurs are cautious about making a profit (every penny counts) and they make wiser investment although women are not very risk averse, this could also be a plus because then we are able to make safe decisions to sustain the business. By also being a good multitasker female entrepreneurs are able to manage stress and work under stiff conditions for the prosperty of the bussiness.

female businesses create more jobs than their male counterparts. According to the Census Bureau, the number of U.S. employees who work at businesses owned by men grew from 41.05 million to 41.20 million from 2007-2015, a meagre 0.37% growth rate. Meanwhile, the number of employees at female-owned firms grew from 7.5 million in 2007 to 8.9 million in 2015 — a growth rate of 18.39%. Women-owned firms created 1.24 million more jobs during that eight-year span than their male-owned counterparts even though the latter run more businesses. This is because the number of firms owned by women grew by almost 20% as opposed to the growth rate of 4.86% of male-owned firms during the same time period.

Another very important thing I have read about female entrepreneurs is that they help improves business. A business with a female on the board has been noticed to have done better than a business with just men on the board.

According to Seed-stage venture firm, First Round analyzed 10 years worth of its investing data, made up of 300 companies and close to 600 founders and cofounders, to evaluate the characteristics of successful owners. One of the surprising things the firm discovered was that investments in companies with at least one female founder outperformed their investments in companies with all-male founders. In fact, companies with a female founder performed 63% better than companies where founders are all males, in terms return on investment.

Women overall help a business to grow better, growth in this context can be referred to grown as an expansion, additional employees, or new ventures, but all of these contribute to the entrepreneur’s net worth.

BizWomen survey of 1,366 business owners revealed that 32% of female-owned businesses are in active expansion mode compared to just 27% businesses owned by men.

Not only are women more interested in expansion, but they are also more keen than men to start new ventures. A Centre for Entrepreneurs study of over 400 entrepreneurs and executives revealed that close to half of women polled plan to start another business within the next three years, compared to just 18% of men.

Lastly, being a homemaker has a lot of advantages, like budgeting, planning, time management etc these are transferable skills that are carried into business investments that enable female entrepreneurs not just to achieve their business objectives, but ensure to grow their profitability. So this is a blessing for women as they don’t have to be schooled to have these skills rather it’s a way of life for us.

I hope with this, I have been able to reassure you that you are great, you can be a billionaire, you can dream big, you can work just as hard as men or even harder. I hope I have been able to convince you that starting a business is a piece of cake for us women if you run your home already that means you have already started running a business. #facts.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, I would be bringing more entrepreneurial stuff your way as it’s my passion.
